St. Francis Catholic Church, my home parish, has long had a relationship with the four Holy Family Catholic Churches in southwest VA. Mainly it was from money collections from Mass.
The church has now established an Appalachian mission where item donations, such as clothes, household supplies, tools, and gift baskets, are collected and sent to the Center for Christian Action in Pocahontas, VA. Pocahontas is the most remote area and has never fully recovered from the closure of the coal mines. The church there is St Elizabeth of Hungry. A fellow third order Franciscan Secular.
The video shows the beautiful and elegant religious images found in the church.
